Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Today Kiran Building has no accounts, no sign-up, no payments, no contact forms, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. We don’t ask for your name, email or address.

The only information that reaches our servers is what every website receives when you load a page (see server logs).

2. Your designs stay in your browser

The sizes and options you choose are worked out in your browser, and the PDF is made in your browser too. They are kept in two places, both on your device:

• The page address. Your sizes are part of the link (for example ?width=40), so you can bookmark or share a design. Anyone you send the link to sees the same design. Because the address is requested from our server, the sizes in it appear in our server logs.
• Your browser’s local storage. Your units (inches or millimetres), saved design options (A, B, C) and build-mode progress (which steps you ticked) are stored by your browser so they’re there next time. They are never sent to us.

Build mode also saves the pages it needs in your browser’s cache so the manual opens without signal. You can clear all of this at any time from your browser’s settings (“clear site data”).

3. Server logs

When your browser asks for a page, our hosting provider records the request: your IP address, the page address (including any sizes in it), the time, and your browser type. We use these logs only to run and secure the site and to fix errors. They are kept for a limited time (normally no more than 30 days) and are not used to identify you, build a profile, or advertise to you.

4. Cookies

We don’t set cookies. If we ever add one, for example for an account sign-in, we will update this policy first and tell you what it does.

5. Links to stores and other sites

Shopping lists link to retailers such as Home Depot and Lowe’s. We don’t send them anything about you or your design beyond the product search in the link. Once you are on their site, their privacy policy and cookies apply. If some links become affiliate links, the retailer may record that you arrived from Kiran Building so it can pay us a commission; we would not receive your purchase details.

6. Selling and sharing

We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We would disclose information only if the law requires it, or to protect the service and its users from fraud or abuse.

7. Children

Kiran Building is for adults (see the Terms of Use). It is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

8. Your choices and rights

Because your designs live in your browser, you control them: change them, share the link or not, and clear them whenever you like.

Depending on where you live (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut or New Jersey), you may have rights to know what personal information a business holds about you, to have it deleted or corrected, and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. We hold almost nothing and sell nothing, but you can still ask: email hello@kiranbuilding.com and we’ll answer within 45 days. We won’t treat you differently for asking.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because we don’t collect accounts, addresses or payment details, there is very little for anyone to take. No method of sending or storing data is perfectly secure.

10. When this changes

We plan to add accounts (to save designs), paid Build Packs and, for outdoor projects, an address-based site check. Before any of that collects new information, this policy will be updated to say exactly what is collected, why, how long it is kept, and how to delete it. Addresses and measurements will be encrypted when stored, deleted on request, and never sold.

When this policy changes, the version and date at the top change too.
